    Scientific Farming and Modern Technology Are Essential for Quality and Export-Oriented Orange Production

    At a one-day Citrus (Orange and Sweet Lime) Technical Seminar held recently at Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Auditorium, Amravati, in the presence of thousands of farmers, Mr. Pradip Kothawade, Managing Director of Agri Search India, delivered an important message. While guiding orange and sweet lime growers, he emphasized the need for scientific farming practices, balanced nutrient management, and adoption of modern technology to achieve quality and export-worthy citrus production.

    Following this, Dr. Harihar Kausadikar, Head of the Department of Soil Science, Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krushi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani, provided in-depth guidance on the topic “Soil Health and Conservation for Quality Orange and Sweet Lime Production.”

    Dr. Yogesh Ingale, Associate Professor, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krushi Vidyapeeth, Akola, explained scientific techniques for pest and disease management, while Dr. Rajendra Wankhede from Krushi Vigyan Kendra, Achalpur, highlighted important practices to be followed from plantation to harvest. Renowned citrus consultant Dr. Gopal Bhakte shared effective solutions to farmers’ pressing issues, along with guidance on fertilizer and irrigation management.

    During the afternoon session, Dr. Satish Bhonde presented region-specific recommendations for the Amravati and Nagpur divisions based on soil, water, and leaf petiole analysis. Dr. Omprakash Hire shared insights on on-farm trials and modern technologies. Dr. Pravin Bisen demonstrated the “Agri Citrus” mobile application and explained how digital technology can be beneficial for farmers.

    In the “Your Questions – Our Answers” session, experts addressed and resolved farmers’ queries. Dr. Laxmikant Kalantari, former Director of Sericulture, captivated the entire audience with his fluent and engaging presentation.

    The seminar was attended by Mr. Sudhakar Ganu, Mr. Arun Mulane, and Mr. Dinkar Borole, Directors of Agri Search and Mrugdhaara Agro, along with Zonal Manager Mr. Bharat Tiwari, Regional Marketing Manager Dr. Pravin Deshmukh, and the entire team.
