Urea with Release Zinc in Maize (Rainy Season)
-
Maize loves nitrogen – and urea is the cheapest and most effective way to give it. It boosts plant height, leaf size, and overall green growth.
-
But in rainy season, zinc deficiency is common. You’ll see white or yellow lines on the leaves. This directly affects the cob size and grain filling.
-
Solution? Mix zinc with urea. But not just any zinc—use chelated zinc. It doesn’t get locked in wet soil and stays available for the plant.
-
Right dose: For every 1 bag of urea (45–50 kg), mix 500 grams of chelated zinc. That’s all you need.
-
How to mix it?
-
Spread urea on a clean floor or plastic sheet.
-
Sprinkle the chelated zinc powder evenly.
-
Mix it 3–4 times by hand or with a shovel.
-
Make sure the powder sticks well to the urea.
-
Store in shade and apply the same day if possible.
-
-
When to apply?
-
First dose: 20 to 25 days after sowing
-
Second dose: 40 to 45 days after sowing
-
-
Benefits you'll see:
-
Stronger roots, greener leaves
-
Better cob formation
-
Increased yield and healthy grains
-
Zinc deficiency won’t affect your crop
